The Role of Qur'an Reading and Writing Teacher in Improving The Qur'an Reading Ability of Grade X Students of Vocational High School

Abstrak

This study was motivated by the gap between students' *Fiqh* learning outcomes and their observance of the five daily prayers. The study aimed to determine: (1) the *Fiqh* learning outcomes of Grade VIII students at MTs Hasanudin; (2) the observance of the five daily prayers among Grade VIII students; and (3) the relationship between *Fiqh* learning outcomes and the observance of the five daily prayers among Grade VIII students. A quantitative approach using an associative method was employed. The study population consisted of 90 Grade VIII students, with the entire population serving as the sample through total sampling. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, normality tests, linearity tests, Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis, simple linear regression analysis, F-tests, t-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²) with the aid of SPSS version 22. The results indicate that: (1) students' *Fiqh* learning outcomes fell into the "good" category, with a mean score of 85.10; (2) students' observance of the five daily prayers fell into the "fairly good" category, with a mean score of 68.49; and (3) there was a positive, very strong, and significant relationship between *Fiqh* learning outcomes and the observance of the five daily prayers, evidenced by a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.992 and a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.984 indicates that *Fiqh* learning outcomes contributed 98.4% to the observance of the five daily prayers, while the remaining 1.6% was influenced by factors outside the scope of this study..
