BUILDING STUDENTS' REFLECTIVE THINKING ABILITY AMID THE DOMINANCE OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY
Keywords:
Reflective Thinking, Learning in the Digital EraAbstract
The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to the learning process, but on the other hand, it has the potential to reduce students' depth of thinking if not accompanied by reflective thinking skills. This study aims to examine the importance of developing students' reflective thinking skills amidst the dominance of digital technology in education. The method used is a literature review by analyzing various relevant literature related to reflective thinking, digital learning, and 21st-century educational challenges. The findings indicate that digital technology can be an effective tool for fostering reflective thinking if integrated through appropriate learning strategies, such as problem-based learning, self-reflection, and critical discussion. Reflective thinking skills help students to understand learning experiences more deeply, critically evaluate information, and make informed decisions. Therefore, the role of teachers is very important in designing learning that is not only oriented towards the use of technology but also towards the development of students' reflective thinking skills. This research is expected to serve as a reference in developing learning practices that balance the use of digital technology and the enhancement of higher-order thinking skills.
